My life is put on hold when I play with clay...it is the one activity that engages me so totally my thoughts are simply unable to wander. I dream a shape...and I have to make it.
Most of my pieces are thrown on the potters wheel, but I often alter them to create more fluid and organic forms. I aim for my functional ware to also be sculptural, to be enjoyed when not in use.
Beauty, for me, lies in undecorated simplicity.
Whereas clay allows me to give form to my imagination, photography allows me to capture the forms and textures I discover in the natural world. I love seeking out the 'wood' among the trees. I hope you enjoy seeing my point of view!
